Summer is winding down, school is starting, and many families may be considering extra-curricular activities for your children. At Spiritual Twist Productions, students have the chance to experience the performing arts in a Christian context. The ministry’s mission is to plant God’s word in the hearts of students, teach them that they were created to glorify Him, and share the gospel with their audiences through their full-length musical productions.
Each week, students have a devotional time and then work on musical theater skills as they prepare for their class production. They are taught vocal production skills (proper breathing, enunciation, projection, etc.), acting skills (objectives, tactics, stage directions, etc.), and choreography in a nurturing environment that sees each child as uniquely gifted to bring God glory.
 | Spiritual Twist offers musical theater classes for students of all ages but has classes designed specifically for homeschooled students. These classes are unique because they serve a broader age range (ages 8 and up), allowing siblings the chance to be in classes and performances together. As the production draws closer, the whole family can be involved, volunteering to bring the story from script to stage. Parents and family members join in to build and paint sets, work in hair and make-up, help in sound and lighting, and run ushering and concessions. The volunteer opportunities are endless and producing a show truly becomes a family affair! |
With classes that serve students of all ages and volunteer opportunities for families, Spiritual Twist Productions offers families the chance to be together. In many areas of life, we are separated by age and experience levels, and families often find themselves disjointed. The community that develops around each class is strong and, while students are making friends in classes, their siblings are playing together as they wait, and parents are swapping stories about family life as they volunteer together. The result is a strong community of faith, where families serve and pray for one another, as they work toward creating a musical production that honors God.
